Asset Management

An asset management mandate saves you time since looking after your financial investments is no longer your concern and you can rest assured because we manage your assets with the utmost care and professionalism, with a particular focus on sustainable investments. Our clients thereby benefit from the independent research performed by our subsidiary Invera, which was already specialised in sustainability when many people did not even know this term.

It goes without saying that we adhere to the investment strategy agreed with you without exception. The performance targets set serve as benchmarks that we measure ourselves up against at all times.

Our selection process

Our security selection is based on a certified, two-stage selection process:

First, an independent ethics committee defines the environmental, social and ethical criteria that all the securities we select must comply with at all times. On this basis, a specialised ethics research team at Inrate Ltd., a Zurich-based rating agency specialising in sustainability, provides the hand-picked BLANKART investment universe.

We then subject the individual investments within the BLANKART investment universe to a fundamental analysis and select those that most closely correspond to the individual ESG criteria and that hold the best promise for earnings and/or growth opportunities.

Investor Protection

Current Supervision

Blankart & Cie has been a member of the self-regulatory organisation VQF Association for Quality Assurance of Financial Services for combatting money laundering and the financing of terrorism (VQF SRO) since 19 January 2006 and a member of the Industry Organisation for Independent Asset Managers of the VQF for the practice of asset management (VQF BOVV) since 29 March 2010. Accordingly, Blankart & Cie is supervised for complying with legislation regarding the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing as well as with regard to the practice of asset management and thus in the area of investor protection. The VQF SRO and the VQF BOVV check compliance with the duties defined for their respective areas in accordance with the minimum requirements of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA and impose appropriate sanctions and measures in the event of violations.

Future Supervision

On 1 January 2020, two new laws entered into force: the Financial Services Act (FinSA) and the Financial Institutions Act (FinIA), which regulate the future licensing and conduct obligations for independent asset managers in Switzerland.

Under the new regime, independent asset managers must be licensed by FINMA and supervised by a supervisory organisation. Blankart & Cie is going to apply for a corresponding licence no later than 31 August 2022.
